FAQs

FAQ's

  1. How does registration work?
  2. To register your child for Camp Half-Blood Elmhurst Branch, you must fill out the registration packet on the Registration page of this website.  This packet can be submitted by e-mail or delivered by mail or in person to the Camp Half-Blood site.  The full payment for camp must be made by June 23(the end of registration), but not necessarily at the time the registration packet is submitted.
  3. Is Camp Half-Blood an overnight camp?
  4. No, this is a daycamp that goes from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day of camp.
  5. What will the camp cost?
  6. $40.00. This cost includes all snacks and drinks (but not lunch). It also includes a camp tee-shirt, foam safety sword, and other crafting supplies. The full payment must be made by July 7(the end of registration), but not necessarily at the time the registration packet is submitted.
  7. Can you accomodate my child's food allegies?
  8. It depends on the type of food allergy. We don’t recommend that children with severe peanut allergies, that lead to secondary contact allergies, attend camp without talking to us first. Contact Caroline D., Camp Director, by e-mail if you have concerns regarding your child’s dietary needs. We’ll make every effort to accommodate your demigod.
  9. Can we buy extra camp t-shirts?
  10. Yes, you can purchase additional shirts using the order form in the registration packet to avoid the nightly laundry problem.
  11. Can I drop my child off at camp early?
  12. While this is not recommended, if you have schedule problems in terms of dropping your child off/picking them up within the timeframe of camp, please contact Caroline D., Camp Director, by e-mail to see if an arrangement can be worked out.  We’ll make every effort to accommodate your demigod.
  13. Is lunch provided at camp? No, only snacks and drinks are included in the regular camp fee; campers must bring a sack lunch each day of camp.
  14. Do you have to have read the Percy Jackson books to attend?  No! We wil be reading from one of the books every day, and most of the activities don't require that you have already read them.
